The OSHA Outreach Training Program provides workers with basic and more advanced training about common safety and health hazards encountered during construction activities. The 30-hour course for construction covers a broad spectrum of in-depth health and safety workplace topics that educate workers in identifying, predicting, avoiding, preventing, and stopping potential hazards in the workplace. The 30-hour training program uses a mixture of in-depth academic learning and interactive hands-on exercises intended to provide workers, supervisors, and management with some safety responsibility a greater depth and variety of training. This course is designed to provide in-depth information on safety compliance issues and regulatory compliance, as well as improving the overall safety culture of the workplace. Upon successful completion or the course, participants will receive a completion certificate and a plastic, wallet-sized OSHA 30 DOL (Department of Labor) card.

OSHA recommends Outreach Training Program courses as an orientation to occupational safety and health for workers. The OSHA Outreach Training Program is OSHA’s primary way to train workers in the basics of occupational safety and health. These programs were developed by the OSHA Training Institute with the intent to assist employers in training and introducing employees to the basic practices of identifying, reducing, eliminating and reporting hazards associated with their work.
