Mine Safety and Health Administration

This course meets the requirements of The Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) regulations 30 CFR Part 46 training requirements for employees working at a surface mine or quarry. The refresher course promotes a safe and healthful workplace for miners to help prevent death, illness, and injury from mining.  Refresher training covers the relevant changes at the mine, technologies, regulations, and processes that may affect the workers’ health.

The 8-hour refresher course is a mixture of in-depth academic learning and interactive hands-on exercises to ensure workers remain competent and up to date on safety related work practices and regulatory compliance required when engaged in surface mine operations.

*Employees and supervisors working at surface mines are required to complete 8 hours of Part 46 refresher training annually within 12 months of the anniversary date of their previous Part 46 training. Employees who fail to meet this requirement may need to repeat their initial training.
