EXPERIENCE & BACKGROUND
Aslyn Henry started her career as an Offshore Field Technical Analyst for Schlumberger in the Gulf of Mexico upon completion of her degree from Texas Tech University. After only a couple of years, she moved her way up to the Offshore Data Analyst position, managing a team of approximately 10-15 people on her rig whilst overseeing oil and gas operations for BP. Some duties included well monitoring, geologic descriptions of rock cuttings, technical writing, kick volume and lag time calculations, sensor installation and calibrations, gas equipment installation and maintenance, sampling, and working with various government agencies.
The COVID-19 pandemic led to a series of events which ultimately brought her back to her hometown of Lubbock where she obtained a position as a Planner for the City of Lubbock. This move gave her experience with platting, commercial and residential land development, zone changes, variance requests, presenting to various boards, maintaining land use records, creating numerous GIS maps, and gaining substantial knowledge of the City of Lubbock Code of Ordinances and the future Unified Development Code that is on schedule to go into effect in late 2023.
The combination of technical, environmental, and governmental experience Aslyn gained from these prior roles has helped her to transition into the Environmental Engineering Project Manager position here at R2M. Some of her current duties include calculating emissions, preparing air permit applications and stormwater plans, performing compliance inspections, and managing client regulatory compliance.
